Core tip: the latest statistics released by the German Federal Statistical Bureau on 22 showed that Sino German trade in 2020 was still growing against the trend of COVID-19 (the same year, the same below), with a total value of 212 billion 100 million euros in the year of 3%.

The latest statistics released by the German Federal Bureau of statistics on 22 showed that Sino German trade in 2020 continued to grow against the trend of COVID-19 (compared with the same period last year, 3%), amounting to 212 billion 100 million euros. China has been Germany's largest trading partner in the world for the fifth consecutive year. In response, a number of German experts told China news agency that China has stepped out of the impact of the epidemic faster than expected, which has led to the economic recovery of Germany. In the post epidemic period, the economic cooperation between the two countries is expected to release greater potential. Data show that China is Germany's second largest export destination, but the gap with the first US has narrowed again. According to German data, last year, the United States imported 103.8 billion euros worth of German goods, while China imported 95.9 billion euros from Germany.

According to the latest news released by the German electronics and Electrical Industry Association (ZVEI) on the 22nd, China will once again become the largest export destination of German electrical products in 2020, with a total export volume of 23.3 billion euros to China, an increase of 6.5%, even exceeding the pre epidemic level (an increase of 4.3% in 2019). How about the future development of foreign trade market?

Trade scale will return to pre epidemic level in 2021

The World Trade Organization reported on the 18th that global trade in goods continued to rebound in the fourth quarter of 2020, but the rebound trend may not be maintained in the first quarter of 2021. According to the latest issue of "barometer of trade in goods" released by the WTO on the same day, the global goods trade prosperity index reflecting the market situation in the fourth quarter of last year reached 103.9, higher than 100.7 in the third quarter of last year.

The World Trade Organization said that after the sharp decline of goods trade in the first half of 2020, the global goods trade volume began to rebound from the trough since the third quarter, driven by the increase of Asian exports and the increase of imports from North America and Europe.

In October last year, the WTO predicted that the volume of Global trade in goods would shrink by 9.2% in 2020 and increase by 7.2% in 2021, but the scale of trade would still be far lower than that before the epidemic.

According to the Compilation Rules of the global goods trade climate index, the value of 100 is its benchmark. If the index reading in a quarter is 100, it means that the growth of Global trade in goods is in line with the medium-term trend. If the index is greater than 100, it means that the growth of Global trade in goods in the quarter is higher than expected; otherwise, it means that the growth of Global trade in goods is lower than expected.

In July 2016, the World Trade Organization released the global trade climate index for the first time. By collecting trade statistics of major economies, it provides early signals on the short-term development trend of current world trade, and provides more timely international trade information for trade policy makers and business circles.

In 2020, the total value of China's import and export of goods trade will reach 32.16 trillion yuan, an increase of 1.9% over 2019, reaching a new record. Among them, export was 17.93 trillion yuan, up 4%; import was 14.23 trillion yuan, down 0.7%; trade surplus was 3.7 trillion yuan, up 27.4%.

"Novel coronavirus pneumonia has been seriously impacted by the severe and complicated international situation and the severe new situation of the new crown pneumonia in the past year. China's foreign trade has been significantly higher than expected, and the scale of foreign trade has reached a new high. China has become the only major economy in the world that has achieved positive growth in trade in goods, which fully embodies the strong resilience and comprehensive competitiveness of China's foreign trade." Li Kuiwen, spokesman of the General Administration of customs and director of the Department of statistics and analysis, said at a press conference of the state information office on the 14th.

"In 2020, China's foreign trade will stabilize rapidly after the first quarter shock. The annual import and export scale will reach a record high, and the international market share will also reach a record high." Li Kuiwen said that according to the calculation of the world trade organization, in the first 10 months of 2020, China's international market shares of import and export, export and import accounted for 12.8%, 14.2% and 11.5% respectively, which were 0.8%, 0.4 and 0.7 percentage points higher than the historical peak respectively. China's position as the largest country in goods trade is more consolidated.

Under the influence of the epidemic, Global trade has shrunk significantly, while China's super large market advantage is more obvious, and the import demand is stable. In 2020, China's imports of crude oil, metal ore and other resource-based products will increase by 7.3% and 7% respectively. At the same time, the export of China's traditional advantage products continued to grow. The annual export of mechanical and electrical products was 10.66 trillion yuan, an increase of 6%. The export of notebook computers, household appliances, medical instruments and devices increased by 20.4%, 24.2% and 41.5% respectively.

In 2020, all localities and departments will do a good job in "six stabilities" and "six guarantees" tasks, make overall efforts to prevent and control the epidemic situation at ports and stabilize foreign trade, and strive to maintain the main body of foreign trade market while promoting the continuous enhancement of the vitality of foreign trade main body.
